My favorite spot for breakfast, the food is amazing, service is top notch and the prices are the best around. The atmosphere there is so friendly and inviting too.

Came here for breakfast and was not disappointed. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with many great choices. My kids ordered off of the menu and they both loved what they got. The prices here are very reasonable for how much food you get and the variety. I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Mason City.

LD’s Filling Station is the perfect place if you are wanting simple food that is real and tastes good. For example, I ordered 2 fried eggs, 4 strips of bacon, and 4 slices of toast so I could make sandwiches. The eggs were real eggs, not egg substitute. The bacon was thick cut, tasty, and cooked nearly perfect. The glass of milk was ice cold and the toast was toasted perfectly. My bill was $8.45 with tax.On the weekends they have a buffet for $8.95 but, it does get somewhat busy. From my experience, they do a nice job keeping the buffet full and clean.The grounds are clean, though the parking lot is a pothole haven. So, drive carefully. The interior can seem somewhat dirty and lives up to the reputation of being a DIVE. Overall, the food is real, the food is tasty, and the staff are genuine. If you want REAL FOOD for a cheap price, this is the place.

In short - LD's has good breakfast at great prices!At first glance, LD's looks a little run down, as it's not the most sightly part of town. This is not the case at all.I love this place! It's Mason City's token greasy spoon, and it's a title they bear proudly. Sporting a classic car theme all around, LD's is a staple of north Mason City.Breakfasts are well made, and available at all times.They have a breakfast buffet on Saturdays which is very popular. With how diverse and enjoyable their menu is, you don't need to bother with the buffet, although it's still quite good.The one must-try menu item, in my opinion, is the Mustang 2+2, featuring 2 of every item: pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and toast. Best with coffee.The prices are fantastic. You are guaranteed your money's worth, no matter your order.I come here around once a month, usually very early in the morning, with friends. Staff are very nice, attentive, and accommodating. 5/5.

Very disappointed staff not wearing masks. They are the ones interacting with EVERY person dining yet NO MASKS. Distancing means absolutely NOTHING due to this lack of RESPONSIBILITY! Won't wear there again!

Love the dollar Burger night on Tuesday's! I think their coffee could be better though, but other than that I like it.

it's all right place staff is friendly foods okay they don't have much of anything for somebody that doesn't eat a lot of meat pretty much everything that they have is meat unless you order Pacific things from the side menu other than that is pretty good

Had CBS news and KIMT on tv... we didn't come for Covid updates. Maybe play music, sports rerun, or anything else. Lighting was poor too. Did not feel welcome at all.

Food is always good at LDs. Breakfasts taste great. Prices are very reasonable. Walking in to LDs is like walking in the past.

Best food and wait staff in Mason City, Ia

You definitely get your money's worth. It was a family atmosphere for sure. I am a single mom of three boys and other families were more than happy to try and help me. It was very welcoming.

It’s the local greasy spoon with excellent customer service. Good folks, good service and diner food. The prices are excellent! I like this place. They do need to get bone in chicken wings and a dessert fridge or something. Great place for basic mixed drinks and beer.

I usually always get breakfast and find it good. My wife went there for the first time and want too pleased with the ribeye tips. They were overdone ale dry to get. But for breakfast, good stuff

They are always so fast and friendly. I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience here. I love their food, and they have the absolute best cheese balls. For being such a small establishment they have a big passion for what they do.

LD'S is a good Ol down home place to eat. Reminds me of alot of the meals I used to eat growing up. That good ol TLC smacks your inards with every bite!! And if that isnt enough to bring ya back they have a staff of some of the best servers around. Downright family oriented!

Yaaas best little hole in the wall bar and grill. Great food and friendly staff. I hear their bloody marys are legendary. I'm not a fan of tomato juice so not for me but if you like them then this is the place. Go for breakfast stay for lunch and end up back for dinner and drinks.
